Upcoming updates for working parents and employers! Following the National Day Rally by Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, Singapore is enhancing statutory childcare leave to better support growing families.ย
The enhancements to childcare leave and government reimbursement are among the first set of recommendations from the Marriage and Parenthood Reset Workgroup to be accepted by the government. The workgroup, chaired by Minister in the Prime Ministerโs Office Indranee Rajah, will release a fuller set of recommendations in early 2027.
Here is what HR leaders and business owners need to know (note that the implementation date is to be confirmed):

๐๐จ๐ฏ๐๐ซ๐ง๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญย ๐๐๐ข๐ฆ๐๐ฎ๐ซ๐ฌ๐๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ: To ease the cost burden on businesses, the Government will fund the full duration of the new statutory child-related leave schemes (up to S$500 a day), an improvement to the current subsidy of three days for the CCL and two days for the ECL.
